Based on the BioWare’s critically successful video game. Similar to the games I don’t think this show follows any base characters from the game, correct me if I’m wrong. It’s a relatively short series of awesomeness. The combat, characters, colours, all excel. The art suffers in large portions but it’s bearable especially cos the series is short.
The art is interesting. It’s a mixture of 2D and 3D which seems to be the norm in animations these days. The animation could pass for a web series even and that’s not to say it’s bad, it’s more to highlight it’s not up to the Netflix standard of animations we are now accustomed to.
The story was a bit convoluted and I wasn’t sure if I’m supposed to have played all the games or read some novel. It just seemed to be about an elf who even within these short 6 episodes keeps getting betrayed, which is strange because she’s a very ill tempered elf it seems, so as to how and why everyone seems to have the guts to mess with her is beyond me. It follows a band of thieves trying to steal an artefact which so happens to have personal ties to it then exposes personal links etc. The show features the most random kiss ever ??.
I enjoyed the show. Being a gamer and familiar with the series it’s good to finally see our beloved titles being adapted to the screen with good quality.
