I was enraged at this what is called a movie… and they need to stop this. Its very lazy and unfair. You have a core fanbase! We love the show we love the characters, we are committed! You cannot publish a 1 hour 44min and 75% of the film is just the last few episodes of the last season. From a business perspective I get it. it works great for newcomers to the franchise but it’s a lack of respect to your core. We need a form of warning. And I need a thorough warning to say “hey if you have seen the last season you don’t need to watch this movie” we need that! Or even better this is not a cinema level of content. When Toriyama announces a new movie we know we are getting a new movie. new setting, new characters, new story, new level unlocked, big surprises etc. you cant be doing this to us. Then at the end it’s a little snippet of the next season. I’ll be cool.
In the latter section of the film we get introduced to the Wind and Serpent Hashiras Sanemi and Obanai. Always a joy to see the Hashira’s put in work as they are always on demon time when they on screen. That’s another thing the movie’s usually have the Hashira’s centre stage but alright let me chill. We explore more of the lore around the demon marks which tend to be triggered when emotions are high and they basically set up how that’s going to be further explored in future seasons. We get a return of Zenitsu and Inosuke so the laughs return. They always provide that warm, fluffy side of humour to a world that has demons roaming around. They are more like cameos to be honest.
All in all it’s a good ending but not a good movie, I cant even call it that but this intro to the new season was good and not fit enough for the big screen. Wait till its out on streaming! Do not embrace the disrespect.
