I havent read the comic but from what i’ve gathered from the community its true to the source material. We are talking about a comic that debuted in 2003 as to why it took 20 years to transfer to animation. The grit is at a max level but what it also does is turn the emotion to a max level too. There is a lot of heart and down to earth concepts here regardless of the superhero nature. The story arc between mother, father and son is excellent. We talking deep, real family drama but with folks that can just snap your neck to shut you up.
The analogy of 2 powerful men in a house with a woman who have to be weary and careful how they physically navigate around her in order to not splatter her across the wall? I see you Robert Kirkman. There are so many characters here and before you starting labelling them as copies, do your research and check when these guys were created. The show starts slow but by the end of episode 1 of season 1 you’re going to be like (emotional damage). Its action driven with comedy in between and even in some cases the 4th wall is broken… comedic timing is brilliant and sometimes its even missed. Each episode gets better and better as it goes on due to some epic writing. So many characters involved but when necessary everyone gets their time to shine. Its well balanced. Season1 ended on the biggest cliff hanger and season 2 ended more on a grounded emotional level leaving you asking more deeper questions like is that person really dead? Its a must watch and i feel like the franchise needed to go animation before attempting a live action. This show confirms it is ready for the big screen… and more importantly we are ready!
Despite its aesthetic its is not for kids! However its a must watch and one of Prime’s best shows right now. Just think of the boys but in cartoon form!
Will Mark accept his Vltrumite heritage? Would you prefer a good or bad Invincible? Would a joint universe with Marvel or DC work?
