All Day and a Night

On the surface it would like your typical black hood crime movie… I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t. About 40min in you see there is an underlying deeper story with different plot points… friendship, loyalty, passion and mainly fatherhood.

I somewhat enjoyed it and you can too if you see pass the typical hood drama exterior. Ashton Sanders is one to look out for. There are huge messages to be felt here and if you didn’t capture them and still just see it as some any hood movie then this one weren’t for you.

Excellent cinematography with vibrant textures and colours, the script suffered at large parts of the film and story line itself isnt the best but the messages and some performances hold it up. its the pacing that kind of causes the problem as the movie starts very well then starts to dry up. Yahya Abdul Mateen gets a special mention.

Would you call this the 21st century Boyz in the hood? Did you enjoy it? React and comment below!
