Dark Matter is a show about a man who figures out the multiverse, goes to another universe to steal a mans wife then when she starts moving mad he wants out… LOL im paraphrasing. Its a decent take on the multiverse stuff as it manages to find its own lane with its own dynamics. For example multiple kenkens can exist in one universe no problem. Imagine that! Hella reviews! Another thing is a multiple universes are created based on alternative decisions made in a universe. The box also only really responds to honesty and truth. See how ive twisted your brain!
Theres some good use of imagery in most of the backgrounds which you can pick up as they foreshadowing whats due to happen in the future of the show. Keep an eye out in the portrait gallery. I liked the show. Big build up on tension, lots of drama, cultivating story and thrilling scenes. I didn’t like the pacing. By episode 2 the whole show is figured out by the characters. Wasted potential build up. On top of that Jason doesn’t need to do much convincing with his wife, she easily gives in. made it all a bit cheesy. The drama side of it runs deep. This guy gets to witness his loved ones in the most messed up scenarios and theres not much he can do about it. It makes for some splendid dramatics.
Considering everything, i enjoyed the show. Watching these actors play variations of themselves was fun and engaging to see. Starts off a mess with the pacing issues, middle was brilliant when it all calmed down then the final 3rd went all bonkers. No MATTER the case, tune into this limited series from AppleTV.
