I enjoyed the Bikeriders. I’m a sucker for the themes it portrays around brotherhood, family and loyalty. Theres a line that explains it all. Benny after attacking someone that was in Johnny’s face… Johnny shouts at him “what the hell were u thinking” Benny replies “I saw you squaring off with someone, I don’t need to think” BARZ! If you’re friends aint moving like that, you need to find new ones. The Bikeriders does excellent drama in all aspects from action, comedy, thriller… it really keeps you locked in. theres one scene where theres a big brawl and the camera man is just casually taking photos of it all. Shoutout Danny Lyon, you took those photos so we dont have to, so this movie could be made, so we thank you.
The combo of Tom and Austin is really one that needs to be explored again. On screen together just feels like a back to back MC clash of 2 of the greatest MCs… I’ll let you tell who those 2 are! Jeff delves into these characters showing us their abnormal love and passion for riding. How 1 man brought together a band of lost folks with no direction, gave them purpose, a family then lost control. A huge lesson in teaching one how to stay in their lane. There are some really dark moments too in the story.
I’ve oscar worthy chatter but i dont think its up there like that. It is a good film. Great characters, a not so bad story, excellent performances and some gripping moments. I’ll say definitely give it a watch but i highly doubt it will warrant a rewatch.
How did you feel about the cast? did you know this based on a real life biker gang that exists today? would you join the club? I can’t bcos the criteria states in bold WHITE MAN
