So in short I didn’t enjoy the movie. It was a huge struggle to be honest. The acting started well but didn’t last long at all before it went to shit. It had horrible pacing in which it will be slow then speed up then slow again. RM introduces us to a load of characters with sooo much potential but then due to the lack of development we just don’t care about them. We follow them into the sequel and still… don’t care. The way she gathers this fellowship is atrocious. Barely any motives just up and join her. The second movie does consist of loads of flashbacks in an attempt to fill these characters with substance but by then you have lost us.
We have these randomly inserted boss battles that are there for ability displays. That spider woman fight… so deaddddd!!! Let me tell you what was really getting to me! These hefty massive guns they carry that barely do any damage… ffs!! Gun fights felt so weak and it didn’t make sense. Massive guns but felt like laser tag tournament. Theres this plot about this robot with feelings who is apparently very strong, disappears for most the first film then makes a cameo in the second and disappears again. My days the overkill on the slow mo… was really grinding my gears. I liked Ed Skrein’s character. Very menacing. Big build up, so easily defeated… twice.
All in all Zacks worst project. Its due to have 6 parts and im hoping they come to their senses and save their money. I don’t know what went wrong. You saw the reception to the first part and still went ahead with the 2nd. Surely it cant all be about the money. You must care about your craft no? 4 solid hours! I can see all the thanks in the comments already. You are all welcome! Ignore this please! Don’t get it green lit for a 3rd.
