Never been a fan of Daniel Craig till now. He felt robotic and motionless to me in the previous iterations but in this he brought it all home. Felt like his performance was based on relief finally letting go of the mantle. He was slick, perversive and charming. All key attributes of the Bond we love and know. With a 3 hour runtime it does well to keep you engaged. The plot worked but the villain didn’t. He had minimal screen time and for such an A list actor he could have been replaced with a shadow and no one would have noticed.
Very good action scenes with one to remember for the ages (the staircase). The signature gadgets played a major role in this instalment and it was good to see as the other films just had Bond with a machine gun doing up commando on everyone 🙄 good vehicle chase scenes, excellent location settings. The new 007 reveal doesn’t work for me because regardless of race, gender etc 007 needs to keep those key attributes which unfortunately due to the double standard world we live in wont translate over very well with most. I liked her role and actually hope she gets her own spinoff franchise.
Without giving too much away its a good send off for Daniel Craig. He went out in style and to be honest was quite emotional. They gave him a lot more purpose than just simply saving the world… again… on your last voyage. Our next James Bond you ask? If its not Henry Cavill then anyone else is a fail. The million pound question is though… do spies ever die? 👀
What did you think of Dans last bond film? What do you think of the new 007? Who do you want to be the next Bond? Comment your thoughts…
