Brings a whole new meaning to star studded 🤯🤯 Timothee, Rebecca, Zendaya, Oscar, Josh, Jason, Stellan, Stephen, Javier etc! It was insane. You know what that means when there’s so many stars? It’s about to get Game of Thronesy 😅 best not to get attached ☺️.
I went into this movie blind and looked into its history after. It’s a novel and this is the 2nd translation to the big screen. This franchise fully inspired the core DNA of Star Wars so a lot of ingredients can be seen. To be fair Lucas has always admitted it so he’s in the clear.
Back to the movie, the action excellent, cinematography brilliant, cast splendid. With such a huge cast what stands out is even though there is minimal screen time each have, they embody their roles, they leave their stamp! The universe is unique and is not your usual space opera. My expectation was very sci-fi laser blasters, time travel stuff but it brings a more grounded feel in the sense that all battles are hand to hand or with swords. So think King Arthur knights etc but in space. Vehicles were very “analogue and mechanical”. I liked that aspect, it brought us the audience very close into the action. A story of different houses at war and the “chosen” one that will bring it all together, nothing you haven’t heard before. Some diff plot points around houses fighting over resources, some “Jedi” like witches etc make it all stand out for me. The title screen straight away made me know I wasn’t going to like the ending as it confirms more sequels to come (which have officially been announced now). It was abrupt and cos the film is so good it leaves you wanting more.
A universe so rich with potential for endless spin-offs if need be. Recommended watch, cinema worthy.
