This film gave that eerie Jordan Peele tone with loads of cryptic messages. Some landed well some made zero sense. It spends time building up the tension brilliantly and gets you very invested. The suspense is one of the highlights of the film. As the riddles slowly unveil you then realise it’s a very basic story. The whole cloud of mystery is pointless to the narrative and id even go as far as to a waste of time. You have these deer’s that keep popping up, creating tension and this enigma, you have Tesla’s driving themselves and crashing… by the end they meant nothing. We have no idea why they were following and approaching people.
The performances are what hold up the film. Everyone holds their own on scene and gel quite well. I haven’t read the book but I’m praying and hoping for you readers that there is more to this than the ending we got. I really, really liked the film but the end angered me… even if it was some attempt at paying homage to Friends Matthew Perry, RIP Chandler. That ending alone prompts me to tell yall to avoid this film… its 2 hours of nothing… hence I sat through that so you don’t have to.
