This movie is proof disney really are taking huge risks and in this case it paid off. Besides pacing issues the story and plots worked very well. Best thing of this movie is definitely choreography. All action scenes felt authentic and were performed to extreme levels that the Asian action cinema would be proud.
A poor point of the movie was it’s source of comedic value. It all felt forced. Marvel have a formula that works well in all their movies where they have an excellent blend of action and comedy. In this case it didn’t work well, especially in the second act with the reveal of you know who 🙄
Highlight of the movie is the antagonist. A legend in his own right in cinema but an epic display here. He showcased the emotion for the motive of his character accompanied by great fight scenes. Great villain.
All in all Marvel has taken what many will class as an E list hero and moved him up a few notches to at least a B lister. This movie did what black panther did for us black folk for the Asian community. My Asian homies feeling real empowered right now and rightly so. Well done Marvel! This is how to make an origin movie.
