Think snakes on a plane but instead of snakes… we have vampires. Not your traditional vampire movie but definitely not a Twilight concept. The design, concept and backstory felt like it could be a universe based in the same as 30 days and 30 nights (decent movie). The blueprint is very different from most and what it does well is put together a whole bunch of different things. There are a lot of bland moments in the mid section of the film but if you manage to power through you do end up with a decent climax. The origins of this monster in this universe is also quite unique keeping it a lot more grounded.
The mash of the various dynamics makes for a bit of a rollercoaster. You have the relationship of a mother and son, terrorists with a very diverse plan and all topped off with a killer who is conflicted within itself.
A decent watch on a Saturday night with a date as you interact with your date in those really dull bland bits before the big climax. God bless Netflix for making it accessible as i wouldn’t have gone cinema for it.
