The plot is terrible! If your Dino film isn’t focused on dinos… you have failed instantly! A story about giant locusts kmt… let me stay calm for second 😮💨 subplots also struggle mainly around the love story between the oldest characters on screen which no one really cares about. Some dodgy CGI at some parts but most of it was on point. The nostalgia is what carries this movie. The return of the original characters meeting with the new characters in a way where the story actually made sense is definitely praise worthy. They didn’t feel shoe horned in. Jeff providing the comedic value in which you just hoped he got more screen time. New heroes like Ramsey and Kayla add a fresh take and tbh wouldn’t mind seeing some form of spin-off series with them in it.
My love for dinos took a big hit in this movie as they become more and more insignificant with each movie. For example everyone and I mean everyone is now all of sudden able to outrun are very well known raptors! How, why and when?? They are known for their speeds 😂 the killer for me was when I saw a mere man grab a dinosaur by its throat and give it a slap… I was done from there. The introductions of the new dinos are always a joy and it was nice to see them in the climax fully involved in a tag team finisher 😇 new dino Beta is clearly a ploy to sell merchandise… basically another Grogu… just there to sell toys.
The good news is this movie felt like a farewell to the franchise and we are not mad at that. It had its run which should have ended 2 movies ago tbh. You can skip this movie as it adds no value to the franchise but if you’re Dino lover like me you can endulge!
