Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

  • Rest in eternal peace Chief Chadwick. A proper heartfelt farewell showcase. Don’t think it could have been done better. Now let’s try get through this review without emotions and solely assessed as a stand-alone movie.

We are back to the world of horrible African accent attempts, we have just accepted it at this point. A very very good movie. Some huge outstanding performances. Main highlight would be Queen Madam Auntie Angela. She delivered one of the most empowering speeches in cinema history ever. Hand her the… I won’t say it cos she deserved it a very long time ago. A good debut from Dominique Thorne, in some parts was overacting but good source of comedic value.

The movie banks on your emotional capacity and I think it was overdone with the 2 major deaths. I feel they both took away from each other and would have been better off done in separate movies. It was over cooked and felt like a repeat scene.

The aquaman movie still holds the crown for best underwater action/interactions. Wasn’t very well executed here, scenes were quite dark and the movement didn’t feel very fluid. The films action was brilliant. Stand out scene would be the bridge. The character designs, suits (not ironheart) were excellent. Tenochs Namor wasn’t the best. Quite boring and the forced humour didn’t work.

All in all even though the world wasn’t prepped for a female black panther it was okayish. The suit didn’t sit well with me and will take alot of getting used to. Some decent cameos, a former UFC champion, one of the MCUs best villains returning, our very own stormzy featuring on the audios and our African giant with a well placed track. The best cameo was proof that Marvel are always listening and we will be getting a new Tchalla. Thank you Marvel. A recommended watch!!

Now take your bald headed demon self and let me know your thoughts on the movie ?

RIP BOSEMAN! ??‍♂️ FOREVER!!

  • For the most part I agree with your assessment of the movie, I feel that Thorne’s outing as RiRi Williams was great even with the slight overacting in moments but I do love to see a black actor getting paid lol.

Auntie Angela saved the movie with her portrayal of our favourite queen however, I am confused as to why they made the choice they did with her character but I am happy to see her being recognised with her Golden Globe win!!

Namor for me added to the excitement and the newness of the movie and it was interesting to be introduced to his underwater world.

Overall I’d give the movie a 6.5 or 7 out of 10 if my ratings are anything to go by lol but I am looking forward to seeing the future of Wakanda with a new black panther and young King on the horizon.
