Onward

A really good movie that talks on growing up without a dad. Good mix of fantasy and comedy. Another gem from Pixar and they just keep getting better and better if im honest. It’s a story that will drive you to go hug your dad and brother. It’s a touching story that gets in your feels. It’s the blend of real life elements and fantasy lore that emphasises on the charm of the movie. The concept of the lack of magic in the world being replaced with technology speaks big big big volumes. The easiest and best description is this movie has a big heart. It pulls on your heart strings. Tom and Chris have great chemistry which we have glimpsed in the MCU.

I can confirm it is very hard to watch a movie with tears running down your face. I recently lost my father so this experience was very full on. With the rollercoaster of emotions in the end it pushed the focus on the good memories so it still ended with smiles. My father was beyond problematic. He was stern and set in his ways. Refuse to break free of the past and adjust to the present. For example he barely used his phone’s contact list rather he wrote everyones phone number in his little diary planner which led to him ending up with tens and tens of little diary planners lol. He valued family. He had trouble showing it but he did. He had his own little way of showing it. I managed to hear him utter the words “I’m proud of you” and even at my tender age still hits home. I digress heavily and no this is not an obituary for my dad rather an idea of how one connected heavily to this movie.

Star studded cast. Some really good lessons in it from brotherhood, parenthood etc. Besides the personal connection, as a movie, it’s a recommended watch with the little ones. In fact age doesn’t matter, it’s a must watch for everyone.
