It’s a revenge story here. Centred around family and brotherhood code. Its solid, deep and engaging. The pacing is insane in a good way but then that also affects the dialogue as it then feels rushed at some parts. Fight scenes are epic! From episode 1! No one could watch this 1st episode and switch it off. I challenge you! There is a roof scene, lift scene, shop scene… there are scenes on scenes. the mixing of ninjutsu with spy tech was the combo I didn’t know I needed. They had these mission impossible tech masks, decoy tech… then there are gundam suits. These suits here work better when linked to your emotions and that, think pacific rim, I know what youre thinking.. theres a lot going on here. The show is a blend of present day and flashbacks and it works to pull the story together. However like I mentioned the pacing is so quick in some parts it doesn’t give you a chance to care much about certain characters when they die. That for me was a problem.
Overall I loved it. but hear me out… as a whole project? Its not the best. Its almost like a showreel displaying animations, art style, etc because the plot is very thin. Barely anything there. Not enough substance to care about the characters. As the show goes on it becomes more of a I wana see what the next fight scene is like. Last 2 episodes have the most emotion but by then it’s a bit too late to care. Hopefull season 2 which hasnt been confirmed can fix this issue.
What did you like most about this show? Do you want a season 2? Did you care for these characters and if so who was your favourite?
