The Chronology of Water

This is one of those films that’s more felt than watched… and honestly, that already tells you who it’s for.

The movie is deeply experimental and very non-linear. It leans heavily on metaphor, fragmented memories, and sensory visuals rather than a clear, structured story. While I get what it was trying to do… explore trauma, identity, and healing… it felt emotionally heavy without being engaging enough to pull me in.

There’s no real hand-holding here. If you’re not into abstract storytelling or slow, uncomfortable introspection, this will be a tough sit. For me, it came across more confusing than moving. It’s a snoozer.

It’s not a bad film, just not an easy watch and definitely not for everyone. I sat there waiting for it to pull me in… and it never did but If you love arthouse cinema, poetic visuals, and films that challenge traditional storytelling, you might appreciate it more than I did.

In summary its not a bad film but it’s very niche, unfortunately, not for me.
