Star Wars Outlaws

  • 2024 JUST ISNT STAR WARS YEAR!

LETS DISCUSS!!

Story

Outlaws’ narrative is a consistently engaging adventure that guides Kay through both familiar locations and new locations. such as the colossal wreck of a High Republic cruiser on Toshara. Along the way, Kay negotiates with a host of vibrant criminals, including a gruff Sullustan mob boss on Akiva, who boldly issues commands while resting his feet on a desk fashioned from his own carbonite-encased brother. Moving cold. Outlaws’ crime story feels refreshingly original—especially for a game—since it largely steers clear of the epic supernatural light vs dark force battles we have grown accustomed to.

Voice Acting

Humberly González delivers a standout performance as Kay in *Star Wars Outlaws*, bringing the character to life with a perfect blend of charisma, vulnerability, and wit. González effortlessly captures Kay’s rebellious spirit and street-smart charm, making her a compelling anti-hero navigating a galaxy of scoundrels and smugglers. Her nuanced voice work adds depth to Kay’s character, balancing moments of bravado with hints of uncertainty and personal struggle, making her journey feel authentic and engaging. González’s portrayal not only anchors the story but elevates it, making Kay a memorable addition to the Star Wars universe.

Dee Bradley Baker as Nix is ready to give Grogu a run for his money! Too cuteeeee! Other good mentions Aaliyah Cinello as Young Kay, Mercedes Morris, Caolan Byrne, and many more.

Gameplay

The gameplay of Star Wars Outlaws delivers a thrilling and dynamic experience, blending open-world exploration, stealth, and intense combat seamlessly. Players are given the freedom to navigate bustling cities, treacherous landscapes, and dangerous underworld hideouts, with each environment rich in detail and opportunities for creative problem-solving. The syndicate system is the highlight here. In essence, completing a quest in the campaign inevitably means angering one of the four main crime families to gain favor with another. Aligning yourself with one cartel might score you discounts at allied merchants, but it also restricts your access within the headquarters of a rival gang you’ve crossed, whether intentionally or not. This clever system adds weight to your decisions, making quest selection feel more impactful than simply checking objectives off a list, as choosing which clan to sell your stolen goods to can significantly influence your progression.

Combat

The combat in Star Wars Outlaws is fast-paced, tactical, and highly engaging, blending cover-based shooting, stealth, and environmental interaction to create thrilling encounters. Players can utilize a mix of blasters, gadgets, and strategic positioning, allowing for diverse approaches to every fight, whether going in guns blazing or taking a more subtle, stealthy route. The game’s combat feels fluid and responsive, with smooth controls that make aiming, dodging, and executing quick takedowns feel satisfying and impactful. The stealth however is not great. Although I knew Outlaws cast you as a thief, I wasn’t expecting stealth to be such a core element at nearly every turn. Unfortunately, the stealth mechanics fall short compared to other stealth games. Your options are limited to sneaking around boxes and pressing square, using a stun gun with a lengthy recharge, or sending your pet to distract enemies so you can bypass or eliminate them… The AI however is not it! I walked through a whole level in the open with zero interaction or nothing… this was a stealth mission i might add.

You paid for early access? I know you are enraged! The amount of bugs is very rude and we need to do better! Delay releases if you need to its not that deep. I’d rather you release a near perfect game then patches to push it further than a half baked game which puts us off totally! Besides all that the repetition and rigid stealth and combat missions keeps quite dry and brings nothing new to the table. The best thing is syndicate system which isnt something totally new but a nice addition. I of course do like Kay and Nix. they are a good addition to the ever expanding lore of Star Wars. With a lack of replayability and no chance of a sequel i dont think, perhaps will see them again in live action? I’d like to see them.

What did you think of Star Wars Outlaws? Would you like a sequel? Whos cuter? Grogu or Nix?
