The ice statue kill was very creative 👏🏾
First off New Orleans is an amazing city which wasn’t taken advantage of in this movie. Frankly it was quite ignored and with the amount of character the city has it should have played a bigger role. A combo of a few of my favourite things… super powers, rap music and black excellence. I enjoyed the film. The acting prowess at its disposal was excellent. The story was quite well written harbouring a gigantic message “we all have a great power within us in which we don’t need a pill to bring out”, don’t know if everyone caught that 😅. Special effects were on point. I think I speak for everyone when I say we were all waiting to see what Robins super power would be but the directors did well by throwing us off. I guess it’s her good heart and her bars. All in all… it’s a good watch and defo a big shout out to @netflix ! They came through again and their productions keep getting better and better.
Fun fact: Henrietta Lacks had one of the most important cell lines in medical research. An immortalized cell line reproduces indefinitely under specific conditions, and the HeLa cell line continues to be a source of invaluable medical data to the present day. In the event of her death, Her cells were taken without consent and neither her or her family line made a penny from the research. She was a black woman 😓
