Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback

If you thought One Piece was long, let me introduce you to a show where you could run 100 marathons at average pace, take a nap, grab a snack, and still not finish it. Yep, I’m talking about Detective Conan! 🕵️‍♂️

I was kindly invited by Cinesaia to the premiere of Detective Conan: One Eyed Flashback last week, and of course I had to slip on my detective cap and test my crime-solving skills before the movie kicked off. Managed to crack two cases, which earned me a couple of bonus tokens to guess the culprit in the film! Sadly, my career as a pint-sized Sherlock ended there—I didn’t snag any prizes, but hey, I had a blast playing along.

As for the movie itself? Classic Conan formula through and through. If you enjoy watching a kid-sized detective karate-kick bad guys while outsmarting everyone in the room, this one’s for you. What surprised me, though, is how well the film balanced its huge cast—somehow, everyone still got their moment to shine.

Sure, the story’s straightforward and the beats are familiar, but the twists are fun, and the emotional moments hit harder than expected. At the end of the day, it’s definitely more of a kids’ film—or a nostalgia trip for those of us who grew up with Conan. (Though I’ll admit… he did feel a little sidelined this time 👀).

All in all, I had a great time at the event, and the movie turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Case closed! 🔎✨
