I dont know who at Disney derserves the credit… for the story, characters, plot and even more importantly the release date as this movie is the absolute best way to end the year! It brings a full all round meaning to the term “lost soul”. A beacon of light reminder to us all to just stop…. in this fast moving world… and smell the roses… as no one is guaranteed a tomorrow. Yes I got real deep on y’all just there lol. A great combination of a family story, passion, music and self worth! I could really go on. I’m not even convinced this movie is for the kids just yet but its a movie that will be timeless and still be watched 10 years from now, sequel or not. The visual depictions of the black people (especially in the barber shop) felt uncanny, so natural, so well thought! Epic performances by Jamie, Tina, Graham! A story about a music lover who feels unfulfilled with his achievements and strives for more… in which he loses his life (in what is deemed before his time) and his soul keeps fighting as he feels he hasnt established his purpose! I have to stop there as the tears could easily return and dont want to spoil the experience. Its a much much much recommended watch for ALL ages! Well done Disney!
